This 48' Len Randell designed classic is truly an impressive vessel. Custom built for the original owners in 1982, she is a well known cruiser here in WA. The current custodians are well known for their attention to detail with all of their vessels, have painstakingly restored her throughout with all new engineering, electronics, wiring, teak, furnishings etc. Originally built by Precision Marine in Perth and launched in 1982, this raised wheelhouse, liveaboard cruiser is a perfect fit for the Perth waterways. "Dorade" has only had 2 owners during her lifetime, and underwent a full rebuild from the ground up. This refit began in 2016, and finished 2018. All work overseen by legendary shipwright Steve Ward as one of his final projects before retiring. Just a snapshot of the immense amount of work that went into this build include:- New 12mm teak decking- New main engines and boxes, Cummins QSB 6.7L de-rated to 305HP each (commercial spec)- New Cummins Onan 11.5kva generator- New dual membrane 350L/hr watermaker - New Raymarine navigation- Sat receiver- CCTV cameras - Bow & stern thrusters with dedicated battery banks (incredibly effective) - Cel-Fi Go range extender (mobile reception) amazing throughout Abrolhos!- Shafts replaced with Aquamet 22' stainless steel shafts, along with new cutlass bearings and props- New plumbing and toilets- New drawer fridge in galley- 1.5 T HIAB crane/winch on upper deck- Solar inverter/charger set up- the list is endless!! The wheelhouse is fully equipped with Raymarine Hybrid Touch navigational package, along with Simrad AIS. Dorade will reach a top speed of 18 knots, and a comfortable and fast cruise of 15 knots. Drop it right back to 10 knots and the fuel burn is just 25 LPH. The new main engines were installed in 2016, and the engine hours are read below 200 per side. Dorade comfortably sleeps 6 passengers across 3 separate cabins. The master cabin (port aft cabin) is set up with a TV and Foxtel connectivity, along with an ensuite and wardrobe. Moving towards the bow, past the galley and down the stairs, are 2 forward cabins both with twin share bunks and storage. The forward utility room boasts a spacious layout, perfect for those odd jobs whilst away cruising. There is a shared day head and shower for these cabins. In 2020 the carpets and blinds were replaced, along with the window seals. A new tender and outboard were added to the vessel also. The galley is well appointed with new appliances fitted during refit. Plenty of fridge space across the two refrigerators in the galley, along with the 2 refrigerated ice boxes on the aft deck! Very easy to keep your drinks cold on this vessel! Not to mention the ice maker located in the wheelhouse.
